Step by step
correct condom use

ALL YOU NEED IS TO FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCTS!

It really is easy. With a little practice, it almost goes by itself. So here are a few tips for the before and after. And: Not only is everything easier with a partner, many things are also more beautiful....

Condoms

? How do you use lubricants and condoms together?

Non-vaginal use or low levels of vaginal moisture jeopardise the safety of condoms. In order to remedy a lack of slide, e.g. with insufficient vaginal dryness or anal intercourse, additional condom-compatible Ritex lubricants such as Ritex GEL+, Ritex HYDRO, Ritex BIO and Ritex LONGTIME, should be used in sufficient quantities on the outer side of the condom.

Never use additional lubricants directly on the penis or the inside of the condom, as this increases the risk of the condom slipping or tearing. Never use lubricants containing oil or grease (e.g. Vaseline, baby oil, body lotion). Only use those which are recommended by the manufacturer for use with latex condoms.

? How do you use condoms and medicine together?

When using medicines such as suppositories, ointments, creams, etc. on the vagina or penis, ask your doctor or pharmacist if these may affect the safety of the condom.

? What do you do if intolerances occur?

If you are worried about an accidental pregnancy or an infection, or if intolerances occur while the condom is being used, ask your doctor or your pharmacist.

? What do you do if you are allergic to latex?

If you experience any intolerances while using the condom, ask your doctor. Ritex condoms are made of natural rubber latex and must not be used by people allergic to latex.

? How do I find the right condom?

Are you not sure which condom is the right one? Then take some measurements. To do so, you can either cut out the RITEX CONDOMETER or just use a tape measure, wrap it carefully around the erect penis and read the circumference.

  • Up to 11 cm, the slim fit is optimal
  • From upwards 11 cm standard sizes are the right choice
  • From upwards 13 cm circumference Ritex XXL condoms fit best

Condoms are very elastic. They adapt well to the shape of the penis and should fit snugly. If you use a condom that is too large, the risk of it slipping or tearing is higher.

? How do you store condoms?

Condoms should only be kept in their original sealed wrappers. Please store your condoms at room temperature. Temporary storage (no more than a few days) at temperatures of up to 50°C is possible, but should be avoided if circumstances permit. Storing condoms in the refrigerator is also possible, but does generally not result in any benefit.

? When do condoms expire?

The expiry date is printed both on the outside of the bottom flap of the packaging, as well as on each individual sealed wrapper. Please check it before use.

? What should I do with a used condom?

Dispose of used condoms along with your household waste. Please do not throw condoms down the toilet as this may adversely affect the efficiency of sewage treatment plants. Moreover, it is likely that the condoms will not flush.

? How do I use a condom correctly?

We have a step by step guide on this topic.

? Why is a serrated container edge so easy?

When it comes down to it, it should be quick and easy. Nobody wants to fiddle about with the condom for ages. Ritex sealed wrappers are especially easy to open. The practical serrated edge and the special foil material allow you to remove the condoms safely, conveniently and easily. No tools are required to open it.

Under no circumstances should you use scissors, knives or anything sharp to open the wrapper, as this increases the risk of damaging the condom! You should also be careful with piercings, jewellery and sharp fingernails.

? Do Ritex condoms contain spermicides

Our products focus on skin compatibility and the highest quality standards. For these reasons, we deliberately avoid any spermicides to make your sex as natural as possible.

? What is the Ritex Perfect® Form?

The Ritex Perfect Form® stimulates the senses. It offers more freedom for a particularly intense sensation, delivers the perfect fit with its natural shape and, thanks to its ultra-light unrolling, transforms the act of putting on the condom into an especially pleasant experience.

Lubricants

? Why should I use lubricant?

Lubricants bring more variety as well as more safety into your love life because they immediately provide the necessary moisture and thus prevent unpleasant friction or even minor injuries to the skin.
They can be used as a "jump-start" when things aren't going so well, as a support in areas of the body that don't have their own lubrication (e.g. anal intercourse), or as a general massaging agent on the skin.

? How do you apply lubricant correctly?

Ritex lubricants are specially designed for use in the intimite area. They can be applied internally or externally, e.g. on the penis using the hand. The lubricants can be used as often as you like.

? How do I use lubricants and condoms together?

? Which lubricant is suitable for anal sex?

Lubricants that offer long-lasting lubrication are particularly suitable for anal sex. Silicone-based lubricants with their extra-long lubrication are made for especially long pleasure. The intensive lubricant film can also provide the neccessary smoothness during anal intercourse. Ritex LONGTIME, for example, can also be used with condoms.

? Do lubricants have to be removed from the body after use

Ritex lubricants do not have to be specially removed from the body. After sexual intercourse, most of the lubricants are excreted together with the natural body fluids. The remaining amounts are harmless and are broken down or excreted in the body within a short time.

? Do lubricants affect sperm activity

Ritex lubricant is not a form of contraception. Water-based lubricants can, however, lower sperm motility (because of their pH value). If you are trying to conceive, we recommend the specially developed Ritex Kinderwunsch Conception Lubricant.

? What should you look for when buying lubricant gels and massage oils?

Lubricants should be dermatologically and gynaecologically tested before being put on the market. Ritex lubricants only contain selected raw materials of the highest quality and are manufactured in Germany using the latest technology. They are subject to periodic strict quality controls.

? What differentiates water-based lubricants from others?

Water-based gels are very popular because they can be used in a number of ways. They are easy to clean and wash out and can generally be used very easily with both condoms and toys.
Silicone oil-based lubricants have the advantage that they lubricate for longer than water-based gels and do not get absorbed into the skin in parts of the body that do not have their own moisture (such as outside the vagina). They should not, however, be used alongside silicone sex toys, as they may damage or completely dissolve the silicone coating on the sex toy.

? What are lubricants made of?

Ritex lubricants are made of specially selected raw materials of the highest quality and are produced exclusively in Germany. Information regarding the contents of our lubricants can be found both on the product pages and on the packages. We attach great importance to the compatibility of our products. If you have any questions regarding the ingredients of our products, we would be  happy to help.

? What do you do if intolerances occur?

If you are worried about an accidental pregnancy or an infection, or if intolerances occur while the condom is being used, ask your doctor or your pharmacist.

? What do I have to consider when using lubricating gels and oils with toys?

Water-based lubricants such as Ritex BIO, HYDRO SENSITIV and Gel+ are generally compatible with most sex toys (please read the instructions for use for the sex toy).

Ritex LONGTIME is a silicone-based lubricant and should not be used in combination with silicone toys. Otherwise, the surface of the sex toy (e.g. dildos and vibrators) could become rough or discoloured. A good alternative in this case are water-based gels. Use with toys made of other materials and with latex condoms is typically possible without any problems (please read the instructions for use for the toy).

? When do lubricants expire?

The expiry date is printed both on the outside of the bottom of the packaging, as well as on the crimp of the tube. Please check it before use. If the gel has already expired, it must be discarded as proper stability against long germ growth is no longer guaranteed. Opened lubricants must be used within the indicated period for the same reason.

? Are all lubricants also suitable for those who wish to have children?

Lubricants can reduce the chance of fertilisation. Due to the pH-level and thicker consistency of many lubricants, sperm motility can be impaired. If you are trying to conceive, we recommend Ritex KINDERWUNSCH conception lubricant. The Ritex Kinderwunsch lubricant is a medical device that supports couples who want to have children in conceiving naturally. The lubricant has excellent gliding properties that compensate very well for a lack of vaginal moisture.

? Why do lubricants sometimes become sticky?

First of all, a distinction must be made here between two types of lubricants: Silicone oil and water-based lubricants:
Silicone oils, like our LONGTIME oil, have a thicker and heavier consistency that provide long-lasting lubrication and are especially suitable for anal sex.  Oil-based lubricants can feel a little "greasier".

On the other hand there are water-based lubricants, which might feel lighter and smoother. As water is getting absorbed by the body, the lubricant might leave a somewhat sticky residue, which is absolutley okay. If this feels uncomfortable, feel free to reactivate the lubricant with some water. By placing a cold bowl of water in reach, you can make sex even more playful and interesting for the both of you. Of course, you can also just add more lubricant if neccessary.
